Dr. (Mrs) Kalpana Ernest hails from South India. She secured her graduate and postgraduate degree in medicine from the Christian Medical College, Vellore. She headed the department of and Clinical Pharmacology for several years where she has had a long term career.

After receiving salvation at the age of 17, she had a divine compulsion to do Gods’ work from the early years of her life. Accordingly, besides her secular job, Dr Kalpana Ernest has been actively involved in the Lord’s work. She began ministering to a small group of people in a nearby village from where her ministry has extended. She accepts invitations from churches of all denominations for church meetings, crusades, seminars, women’s conferences, youth conferences, pastor’s conferences, deliverance meetings etc., in several parts of India. She has had a ministry among school children also. She also travels to countries outside India frequently on ministry schedules.

In the year 2003, in recognition of her service for the Lord, she was ordained as Evangelist at a special ordination ceremony in Anambra state, Nigeria at the ‘Zion Praise Centre’ by its founder and senior Pastor, in the presence of the church congregation and it’s Bible college students.

Dr Kalpana‘s messages and songs have been on mass media both in India and in other countries. Presently she speaks on the Holy God Television channel, which reaches the U.K, Europe, and Middle East countries. She also speaks on the Nambikkai TV and ARK TV channels in India.

The Lord has also bestowed His special grace on her to compose songs. She has composed, tuned and sung several songs which have been recorded as several volumes on CDs and DVDs.

There is another ministry which is very dear to her. She ministers the gospel to slum dwellers in and around her town. These people are gathered together in a common place and the gospel is presented to them beside worship and testimonies, which is followed by serving a good meal to them.

Dr. Kalpana Ernest has been teaching in a Bible College called, ‘Elim Bible Academy’ affiliated to the ‘World Wide Missionary Movement’. This college trains believers and those committed to the Lord’s work for soul winning and church ministry.

Dr. Kalpana has been conducting seminars for pastors, evangelists and their wives in various villages. To edify and encourage the servants of God in far away villages is the purpose of this ministry.

Dr. Kalpana Ernest also contributes articles regularly to a monthly transdenominational Christian magazine called, ‘What does the Bible say’ published by the Full Gospel students’ fellowship, an organisation founded by Dr David Paul in California, U.S, which has its head quarters in Chennai, India. This magazine is received by readers in many parts of the world.Presently she is one of its editors.

Her ministry is known as the ‘River of the Holy Spirit ‘ ministries. Leading people into an attitude of worship and the infilling of the Holy Spirit is the heartbeat of this ministry and hence it’s name.
